9:00 - 9:45 a.m. - The New Competencies of HR Executives

HR has always had a unique and powerful perspective over a business but until recent year's the expectation of most HR departments was limited to delivering necessary services but were rarely acknowledged for creating value. Fierce market conditions, the scarcity of skilled talent and the continual search for differentiation are just a few of the factors changing that view. Today, chief executives are using the same rigors to hire their top HR executives as they would for any other officer level position. This ensures that HR will have the team and procedures in place to achieve the best results and will have the authority to drive the necessary improvements to keep organizational capabilities aligned with business objectives. ADM's recently appointed CHRO, Mike D'Ambrose will discuss how the role of HR has changed through the years and what precipitated these changes. Mr. D'Ambrose will offer his perspectives on the new competencies HR executives must have to positively impact their business and be a strategic player.

11:00 - 12:00 p.m. - Building Leadership Capacity

Successful companies continually find innovative ways to attract, retain and develop leaders who have the ability to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organization.  By building a pipeline of leaders, they will be in a better position to respond to change and to sustain growth and high performance over the long-term.  However, there is a widening leadership gap that is hampering the growth of many organizations throughout the world and this situation is expected to only get worse.  In this session, we look at leadership from both the corporate and professional services perspective to understand where the real value is derived having strong leadership capacity and what successful companies are doing to close the leadership gap.

Shifts in demographics, technological innovation and an increasingly mobile workforce are just a few of the factors creating a scarcity in the people with the skills businesses need to fuel growth and innovation. In a candid session, we ask three corporate talent acquisition professionals will describe their approach to planning, sourcing, assessing, hiring and on-boarding the talent they need to support business objectives of their organization.
